EASA – European Drone Regulation Timeline (post Covid-19)

Covid-19 also led to inevitable shifts in the application of the European drone legislation (EASA), whose initial adoption date was set for 1st July 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, EASA decided to post-to adopt the regulation, hence the postponement of all related dates.

In order therefore to clarify the next regulatory obligations on drones at European level (with repercussions obviously also at national level), this timeline is reported with the new dates of entry into force of the European regulation for both commercial drones and for those intended for professional activities.

The new starting date of application of the European regulation is therefore January 1st, 2021 (December 31st, 2020).

For a correct interpretation of the contents, the events shown in black are those completed, while in red the next events.
